Forth Weekly Devlog

Slum World Devlog #4

Welcome to the fourth official weekly devlog for Slum World. I'm excited to share the progress we’ve made this week.

Art Updates

This week, our focus was on enhancing the visual experience of Slum World. We’ve been working on some new art assets that will bring more life and detail to the game. Here are a few highlights:

  • Environmental Details: We’ve added more detailed textures and models to the environments, making the moon’s slums feel more immersive and alive.
  • Character Models: New character models are in the works, adding more variety and depth to the inhabitants of the moon.
  • Visual Effects: Improved visual effects for various in-game actions and events, adding more flair and excitement to the gameplay.

Crafting System Foundation

We’re also thrilled to announce that the foundation for the crafting system is now in place! Crafting will be a crucial part of surviving and thriving in the harsh conditions of the moon’s slums. Here’s what we’ve been working on:

  • Resource Collection: Players will be able to gather various resources scattered throughout the environment, essential for crafting.
  • Basic Crafting Recipes: We’ve implemented the initial set of crafting recipes, allowing players to create essential items and tools.
  • User Interface: The basic UI for the crafting system is now functional, providing a user-friendly experience for players to craft and manage their resources.

Next Steps

In the coming weeks, we’ll continue to build on these foundations. Our priorities include:

  • Expanding the Crafting System: Adding more recipes, resources, and crafting options.
  • Polishing Art Assets: Refining and improving the new art assets to ensure they integrate seamlessly into the game.
  • Bug Fixes and Optimization: Addressing any issues that arise and optimizing performance to provide a smoother gameplay experience.

Until next time, keep surviving!
